HOW IT’S MADE:

Rooted in the wisdom of generations, our kikapu khaki is Woven by elderly women, the custodians of this ancestral trade , a  craft that transcends tribal lines and can be found across Eastern, Western, and Coastal Kenya. Each reed is carefully harvested, sun-dried, and split into fine strands before being skillfully woven into timeless, functional  pieces. For us ,the papyrus basket is not jut a source of income but a  labor of love , a symbol of resilience, and a living expression of culture .

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

To preserve the natural beauty and durability of African papyrus reed baskets, proper care is essential. 

Keep Them Dry:
Avoid placing your baskets in damp areas like bathrooms or basements. Always ensure they are completely dry before storing to prevent mold or weakening of the reeds.

Clean Gently:
Dust regularly using a soft brush or cloth. For stubborn spots, lightly wipe with a damp cloth—never soak or use harsh detergents, as this may damage the natural fibers.

Protect from Sunlight:
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading. Display your baskets away from direct Sunlight  when showcasing them
